As you contemplate your electric future, here are a few of the coming innovations you can look forward to.
A GROWING SELECTION OF ELECTRIC CARS & INFRASTRUCTURE:
Earlier this year, the Ontario Government announced it would be covering over 80% of the cost of installing electric vehicle charging stations for companies and commercial building owners. This program is helping to add to the already 1,300 public chargers operating in the province. To make things even better, the range on many new electric vehicles is so great that you’ll actually be able to sustain all your daily commuting just by charging in your new DECO Home.
Some of the highest-rated electric cars available in Canada in 2018 include the BMW i3, Chevrolet Bolt, Ford Focus Electric, Hyundai IONIQ, Kia Soul EV, Nissan Leaf, and of course the Telsa model 3 and model S.

IMPROVED HOME SOLAR TECHNOLOGY:
Traditional solar panels continue to get more affordable and efficient with each passing year, andcan already be easily wired into your new DECO Home. This year, Tesla will be introducing an even more exciting innovation known as the Solar Roof. These designer solar panels look exactly like high quality slate roofing tiles, so you can generate electricity for your home without any unsightly conventional panels. As with all solar technology, the amount of electricity you can generate with these new tiles will vary depending on how much sun your home receives, but it does seem likely that many homeowners will be able to provide a significant amount of their home electricity directly from the sun in style.
INNOVATIVE ELECTRIC STORAGE TECHNOLOGY:
As a complement to the solar roof system, Tesla also offers the Powerwall electric storage system. Based on the same design of the best-in-class batteries that currently power Tesla’s cars, the power wall allows you to store solar electricity generated during the day so you will have to rely on your utility company less during the night and when its overcast. Even families without solar panels can make use of the Powerwall, as it allows you to take power from the grid during off peak hours to charge the battery. It also will provide you with up to several days of power during blackouts if fully charged.
